Maps are a supplemental artifact supporting the content of a page. They cannot be the only way information is conveyed—ensure key location or directional details are also provided in text for accessibility.
Use simple, readable maps that focus on what’s necessary. Avoid overly detailed, confusing, or decorative maps.
Include a text description of the map’s content and purpose. If the map is interactive, ensure it’s embedded in a responsive manner (i.e., it displays correctly on devices of all sizes).
